How to make a Bin cage

1. get a big cage, the bigger the better try to make it at least 20 gallons. The floor plan is what u should be looking at, not the size of the the Bin. Look out for the Hieght of the cage because a hamster might be able to jump out. (thx for the info nick)

2. Get the lid and somehow cut a HUGE hole in it. Heat a knife and cut it (kids let the parents do all of the work) Sand it so no rough spots are around.

3. Cut a pair of holes big enough so a hook on water bottle's wire can fit in.

.^.  <--- like that, put tape on the wire so it can fit better. put the water bottle in the middle.

4. Cut a fat T hole for a critter trail wheel to fit or if you can buy a Wheel with a stand.

5. Wash and your ready to Decorate

Make sure alot of things are in the corners because Hamsters are like neat freaks

dont put holes on the side because syrians can chew through, the frame could break (dont cut that big of a hole for the lid cuz' the same could happen.) and the plastic might break.

Good luck to ya all!

(the ecentials to put in your hammy's cage are a wheel, chew toys, a small toy( if possible), and a hideout, food dish and water bottle.)

Actually on the first part the height is important, some people may buy a bin that they use for underbed storage but those are too low. You also may want to put a big bin..not cage. Its not a cage yet lol..and the size is very important. Crittertrail wheels are also really small..Sorry but had to point them out

It depends if the bin is for a syrian or dwarf(s). If it's only for dwarfs then it doesn't have to be that tall, because they don't need a massive wheel, and as long as it has a lid they can't really escape. But it does need to be tall if it's for a syrian, because they can climb more (I think?) and they need a big wheel.
